Batteries for homes that already have solar
Battery and gateway mounted on a garage wall in Kaneohe
Add a battery to the solar you already have
Most homes on Oahu export daytime power for very little credit. A battery keeps it for the evening and for outages. We add batteries to systems from any installer, not only our own.

We check your inverter and wiring at a free visit, then give a firm price.
Questions we get about adding a battery
My installer went out of business. Can you still add a battery?Yes. We work on systems from every major inverter and panel brand, whoever put them in. The visit tells us what your system needs.
What happens at the free visit?A technician looks at your inverter, main panel and wiring, asks which circuits you want kept on in an outage, then gives you a firm price.
Do incentives lower the price?Prices on this site do not include incentives. Ask Kainoa or the team at the visit; the rules change and we would rather check your case.
Who answers the chat? The IEH assistant answers first, at any hour, and says so. A named person at IEH follows up on every chat in office hours.

Hi, I am the IEH assistant, not a person. I can find your roof, explain IEH's price ranges and pass you to the right person. What is your address?21:14
46-220 Nohea Loop, Kaneohe. I already have solar, 7.2 kW from another company in 2019. Looking at a battery.21:15
Thanks, Jason. I found your roof in Google's data.

Two questions so the right person gets back to you. Is the whole roof yours, not shared or under an HOA? And is the battery mainly for power cuts?21:15

Whole roof is ours, we own the house. Mostly backup, we lost power twice this year.21:17
For a home with an existing system, IEH usually adds one 13.5 kWh battery. IEH's price range for that is $14,500 to $17,500 installed.

The final price comes after a free visit, because it depends on your inverter and wiring. Incentives are not included; Kainoa can answer tax credit questions.21:17

It is after office hours, so I cannot book a visit now. Kainoa replies from 8:00 on Monday. Which number should he text?21:17

Saved. Kainoa has your chat, so you do not need to call or repeat anything.21:18
